A common day

What hellish traffic! Today I decided I would stop taking the bullet train that connects Vitória da Conquista to Buenos Aires. The Remote Learning school was stressing me. Today a Sri Lankan student asked me the reason why his country had been attached by the Chinese League. I asked him if he read the news on the headset*. It seemed obvious that China has always had the World Power. Our country was unable to be inert against Chinese consumerism, much more voracious than in any other country.
In 2031 China has consumed more than any other country. And so much pollution that the carbon credits were no longer sufficient to counteract. The solution was to buy, by China Free & Forest Carbon Balance Co. – named CC Free, tropical forests in Southeast Asia. The people did not have other choice but to sell and move  to areas each time more remote. The Old Europe did not want to know the people’s problems, but the quality of their own air, so They kept quiet. Sri Lanka had fully reforested and its people confined to a few mountains. The Chinese paid too much and ended any debate. In 2035 They created the Chinese League, which has encompassed Macau, Taiwan, Mongolia, the two Koreas and Japan. Hong Kong had been totally destroyed by tsunamis caused by global warming. The Koreas, 20 years after reunited, joined the league. Japan, which depended on 95% of exports to Mainland China, had no choice. There was installed base of Hokkaido, which served as a shield against possible threats from the European Confederation (former Western Europe, Eastern European portion of Russia and Turkey) and the Federation of Arctic American (formed by U.S., Canada, Mexico and old central America).
The  anthropology classes  I teach are very monotonous. There are few countries, most of them came together in associations. The last war was in 2038. when the Arab states attacked part of Africa in search of arable land and water. Oil had become useless with the new technologies.

* Headset: supported device behind the ear, which emit vibrations that made the User view news as a big screen set to 3 meters away
